Top 5 Tourist Destinations in the Philippines

Travel, one of the things most Filipinos love to do. It is a way of exploring, discovering, new things, seeing different kinds of sceneries and also to make you enjoy your vacation and have fun! And that is what Philippines can give you! As a Filipino, I am proud to present to you some of the Philippines Tourist Destinations!



Top 5: Enchanted River




  Found at Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
 Its clear deep blue basin astounds everyone who saw this. 
Include this on your bucket list and be proud of being a Filipino.

Top 4: Ilocos
(found at the North of the Philippines. 10-12 hours travel from Manila)

  •    Paoay – located at Ilocos Norte and known to its tourism campaign “Paoay Kumakaway”.  I have learned that the mustache on their campaign logo was symbolizing Juan Luna, because Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos got hooked on his mustache.

 Paoay has their own ‘Paoay Sand Dunes’, where you can experience sand boarding and 
a thrilling 4x4 ride that can make you scream when it is on the way down the high ridge. Paoay Sand Dunes has been a location in some movies like Ang Panday, Temptation Island, 
Mad Max and many more! 






Found here is their very own Pinakbet Pizza at Herencia Café found beside the Paoay Church. Unfortunately, I didn’t experience it because of taking an hour to wait for your order. For the reason that a lot of orders was to served. This Pizza says it all!




o   Vigan- is famous for its vintage houses that are preserved by the government. Going here at night is better coz' the lights sparkles at every streets. You can buy different souvenirs from the souvenir shops around. Don’t miss their very own calesa! Have a ride and enjoy the tour!


Try their special Vigan Empanada, it is special because of its different fillings of meat and vegetables that can fill your hunger while touring the city. 
  




Patapata Viaduct- at the foot of the cliff of the Mountain Ranges. Around 1.2 kilometers long. You can stop and take pictures beside the viaduct. The view made it perfect for some souvenir shots!




·         Bangui- where the famous Bangui Wind Mills are found. It’s visited by most tourists because of its beautiful scenery beside the beach and refreshing environment around it.
 The windmills are as tall as a 15-storey building, that’s why when we got there I hugged a wind mill and it’s so BIG! The feeling of breathing fresh air and clod breeze beside the windmills is just amazing that can make your vacation a perfect one!









·         Kapurpurawan Rock Formations-found at Burgos. Has their own white rock formation that juts out into the sea. Seen up close, you can see the white rocks dazzling and sparkling under the sun. The breeze of the wind, the beautiful setting beside the seashore makes you feel refreshed.Different kind of rock formations are found, and one of it is the rock formation which looks like a boat.





·         Pagudpud Beach- found at Ilocos Norte. Stretches of white sand, clean and clear water from the beach and a perfect view of the windmills from a far is a perfect summer vacation ever! The cold water of the beach, fine sand and fresh breeze can’t resist you to go back to Pagudpud again. I can call this “the Boracay version of Ilocos Norte!”






Top 3: Bohol
Considered one of the tourist spots here in the Philippines because of different beautiful places you can visit to.

·         Chocolate Hills- one of the most popular destinations in Bohol. Considered to beIt was called Chocolate Hills because the green grass of the hills turned into a Chocolate color when summer ends. Enjoy the view by taking pictures with your different poses!






·         Philippine Tarsier- You won’t enjoy your vacation at Bohol if you can’t even visit or take photos from our very own Philippine tarsier. It looks like a small monkey with big round eyes. It is protected by the DENR after it has been declared as an endangered species. Don’t kill them instead Take pictures with them!




·         Loboc River Cruise- Tourists visiting Loboc always take a cruise along the beautiful river wherein you can enjoy eating lunch of delicious seafoods and fresh  foods. They called it floating restaurant. While having a ride, you can see the nature with tall trees and plants.




·         Man-made Forest- found in Bilar. Enjoy your vacation with Mother Nature. Feel the fresh breeze of the air, wonderful sceneries, and clean environment. This unique man made forest are visited by tourists and having some shots at the road between tall trees beside it.







Top 2: Boracay
From Manila to Caticlan is approximately 50 minutes then ride a bus that can take 1 ½ hours to get to Boracay. The best destination in the Philippines which is perfect for a summer vacation. It is popular for its white and fine sand beaches, clear water. Here are some activities Boracay offers you:

o   Glass Bottom Boat (P750 for adults and P350 for children 5 years old and below)- one of their recent activity here in Boracay. You can see marine creatures without getting wet. The glass at the center of the boat lets you see fishes, corals and other marine living things found underwater. Enjoy the learning!




o   Snorkeling- snorkeling is fun in Boracay! Its clear water let’s you see the marine reefs and different sea creatures under the water.


o   Para-sailing (P1900) - most popular activity in Boracay because of an awesome experience it can offer! Fly like a hero over the blue ocean. The boat glides you with your parachute, then fly and let go with the wind!




o   Ariel’s point/ Cliff diving (P1600 per person)-located at the town of Buruanga, an half hour boat ride from the white beach of Boracay. Enjoy this with 5 different levels of cliff diving. Also enjoy a scenic view of the nature and the blue water of the beach.



o   Jet Ski (P2500 for 30 mins.)- have a race with your friends as you ride a jet ski speeding over the ocean. Feel the wind and have fun with this kind of experience.


o   Banana boat (P250) - a fun activity with your family and friends. Ride a banana boat and have some splash as you are pulled by a boat over the water. Enjoy the view and have this exciting experience!




o   Mermaid Lesson (P1500 per person)- enter the world of fantasy as you learn and experience to be a mermaid in just a while. This is the recent activity at Boracay and do some gentle strokes and synchronized motions being a mermaid!


o   Helmet dive (P1000)- Want to walk on the ocean floor? Enjoy this helmet dive around 10 feet below the surface until you reach the sea bed  with you diving helmet that can help you breath under water. Have fun as you see the world and the colorful sea floor of the Boracay.



o   Scuba diving (P3000)- enjoy the underwater world with your scuba diving kit and learn the basic in scuba diving. Have some glimpse of Coral reefs and various fishes underwater.


o   Flyfish (P800 for 15 mins.)- enjoy the ride over the inflatable fish as you are pulled along by a speed boat. You can experience airtime as the speed boat increase its speed and get ready to be wet if the inflatable big fish turned upside down. Enjoy this with your family and friends!

Top 1: Palawan
Palawan a place that can give you an awesome experience, beautiful sceneries, and wonderful discoveries here in the Philippines!


·         Puerto Princesa Underground River- found 50 kilometers away from Puerto Princesa. World’s heritage site believed to be the longest underground river and has been nominated as one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Offers you an experience of boat ride inside the spectacular cave and let you see the wonder of nature. You can see wonderful formations of stalagmites and stalactites. It amazed me, when I see pictures of formations found inside the caves. It makes me imagine how God really blessed the Philippines.




·         Honda Bay (30 minutes from Puerto Princesa)- one of the popular destinations in Palawan because of the sceneries from different islands you can visit to. One of the activities done here is Island Hopping from different islands like Pandan Island, Startfish Island, Snake Island, Cannon (Cowrie) Island, Bat Island, Lu-Li Island, Meara Marina, and Senorita Island. White sand beaches, coral grounds, exotic faunas are found here! This place is also perfect for snorkeling because of the beautiful coral reefs underwater, different kinds of fishes, and sloped reefs. You can enjoy this tour in just a day!

  • Tubbataha Reef Marine Park- is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered the Mecca of diving. Some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world are found here! Different kinds of marine animals are also seen. This will give you one-of-a-kind experience in your life! This perfect diving site is a must-see to all the divers from all over the world.






·         El Nido, Palawan – called to be a hidden gem in the center of Bacuit Bay and the country’s largest wildlife preservation area. Various ecosystems such as mangroves, white sand beaches, rainforest, limestone cliffs, and coral reefs are found. Different kinds of animals are found. Varieties of fish, manta rays, and dugong are also found if it’s in season. The water around the bay serves a nesting site for Hawksbill turtles.




·         Coron, Palawan- a place where diving is perfect! There are wonderful diving sites around! This is known to be best wreck diving in the world. Wrecks and rock formations underwater offer the best experience and opportunity in diving and snorkeling. This includes Coron, Palawan in Forbes magazines’ top 10 world’s best diving site. That’s why diving in Coron, Palawan is included in a must-do lists of tourists in Palawan.
